That little computer module that is pop riveted onto the bracket on which the coil is mounted on my 480 Turbo (1721cc). Can anyone tell me what it is called and what it does please.

Thanks in advance.

Hi thanks for the prompt replies!

No it is not the diagnostic plug that I am asking about. It looks like it is a PCB in a very small flat black plastic box & it is pop riveted to the coils bracket. It has wires coming from it, not pipes and has a connector plug so that you can easily replace it.

Hope this helps you to ID it for me

Regards

Hi,

A photo, even one from a phone camera, would help ID this thing immensely...

I was wondering if it was coil ballast, but maybe not. As CTC says, a photo would help - if you don't have a camera, a part number would help us to help you

Default Photo to help ID

Hi All

Managed to get the photo before Elaine went off to work so here it is.
It is the flat black plastic 'box' right next to the coil & directly behind where the HT lead connects.
Cheers.
