Good luck with the 440
I used to have one and put a little info on this thread...

http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=71543

I would strongly advise not taking the fuel level into the red sector of the gauge, fuel starvation can happen esp uphill.

Hi Kirky
If you have a documented cambelt change and it is less than 40000 miles /5 years old you could take a risk, but i would have a look under the cover to check the condition of the belt.

the wheels are just steels painted gloss black done by the last owner

I'm going to local scrappy to look for alloys

tonight i changed the oil and filter and fuel filter the fuel filter bowl was full of yuk and water needed changed the fuel filter on this 440 is the same as on many old tractors ie 135 massey international 574 and the like easy to obtain as i work as an agricultural engineer

the timing belt was changed in 03 at 60k and now has 90k on it so im taking no chances and a kit is on its way at the cost of 88 pounds

the big ??? is am i bravenough to fit it my self
i think i could do it with the correct info

waht do you guys think ????/
