Default Could not put in any gear for 15 minutes??

Hi

Today when I wanted to drive home from work I could NOT.

Couldn't get in any gears at all. Did not matter if the clutch was down or not.
Restarted engine but same problem again.
Tried to push the car bakwards and forwards but no gears wanted to work.

After swearing a few times (aprox 1 minute) when engine was turned off the transmission worked like butter. Started engine and no gears worked again!

After aprox 15 minutes I could get in the gears and drive it to the workshop.

Is this normal that NO gears at all works?

4 days ago I had the DMF and clutch replaced, I guess something went wrong?
If this is not normal, what could it be? Want to have some info before the workshop call me tomorrow morning

The car is a Volvo V50 2.0D 2007.

Regards,,
Kensy

Thanks for answer.
If so, that is done somewhere outside the gearbox and fairly easy to do?

i would take it back and get them to check it, if you mess abt with it, they can say that its not down to them, and its better to adjust on a ramp, and at the end of the day, they fitted the dmf and clutch, so its for them to do it m8

Yes, the car is already at the workshop that did the DMF/Clutch job

Just wanted an estimate time for the job needed with the car and a probable cause.
I will not accept an answer that means they don't do anything with the car...

well if it did,nt do it before you took it there then its something they have or have,nt done, so dont let them try and blame something else, you,ve paid a lot of money for them to fix it, and that has not been done

Not at first but yes. And when I started engine again it was not possible.
The problem might not be constant but some day it might make me stop at a bad place and might need to tow it. That is my fear.
