  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Hi, finally got round to bleeding the clutch the other day.

Fluid came out easily when bleeding, so looks like nothing wrong with the upper system. So an expensive gearbox out job sadly, ran out of funds for that so will have to stand still for the foreseeable.

Just seen this but very likely to be your slave cylinder. This happened to me with a P2 XC70 (MY2005) manual. Bottom of the M11 in rush hour, came into Redbridge roundabout, tried to downshift and nothing! Managed to coast to under the flyover and needed recovery.
It was just out of mileage warranty but only 18 months old, so had a right old fight to get them to "contribute" on what was a motorway car.
Anyway, same symptoms as you describe on a manual 6 spd
