On parkers the average mileage is 80K values at this price are far lower:
Franchised Dealer £2,320
Independent Dealer £2,080
Private Good £1,715
Private Poor £1,175
Part Exchange £1,310

On Wisebuyers on the exact mileage of 62K:
Retail: £3,084
Private Good: £2,264
Private Average: £1,654
Private Poor: £1,114
Part Exchange: £1,864
Trade: £1,690
The valuations quoted are prices you should aim to pay for a used car, not the advertised price. You should adjust your valuation to allow for extras that were not standard specification.

Either way I paid under the odds for mine £2K from an independant dealer with work done into the deal.

I'm not going to waste anymore of my time on this thread though, both the Ford and Renault forums recommend wisebuyers and I have always used the priices to drive down dealers prices and to sell my own cars privately.
Mate I respect whatever you choose to value your car, however the prices that have been given on whatcar are in line with what these cars are advertised for on ebay, autotrader etc... £760 makes no sense for a V50, even a V40 sells higher in decent nick.

Either way I don't want you to feel like you've been ganged up on by a few of us and that there is no hard feelings

What a bargain!

I would have one at that price.

I used to own a Saab 9000i years ago, which was a great car. The only down side of ownership was the cost of spares - extortionate!

Not even the HOT aero and has done 106k
OOPS, never read the text, just looked at the photos.

Maybe not then, especially with the cost of spares

Got to tell you Gary our 9-5 aero (250bhp) has been a pleasure. Never went wrong in nearly 4 years and goes like a stabbed rat. Gets 32-34 on longer runs without much effort and tax isn't bad either at £143 per 6 months.

I use Parkers guide, to get an idea of what to pay and have done for over 15 years.

Wisebuyers is the only free guide that allows the consideration of the exact mileage and high mileage affects the price alot.

Ignore me if you want and pay well over the odds for a car that you want. But you asked for advice on the forum a comparison of V40 and V50 and it was given.
Just have a cheeky look at the printed version, in a newsagents, as they have the mileage ready reckoner inside!

Surely the only way to know the value of a car is to check the prices of those on sale. If you want to sell your car and similar models are all being advertised at X but parkers, etc all say it should be £500 more than X then they are wrong. If you advertise at the parkers value then it won't sell.
