AS the owner of another V40 that was saved by a very good repair on insurance - glad to see another one saved. I hate to see these cars taken off the road and deprived of years of smileage due to a bit of bent steel

Thumbs up

Perfect repair, Druid!
I would be well pleased with that, even at twice that price.

Feeling a bit better now. Hope i'm not setting myself up for a disappointment.
Best solution all round, you don't have to report it to your insurance company, so you don't get bumped premiums for the next 3 years. (As you're not in charge of the vehicle I think technically you can neglect to declare it as having an "accident" at renewal time but you have to declare any claims made. Depends if you want to be honest.) EDIT: I see you've already told them, oh well never mind. At least it's fixed, fab job!

I chased a dusk blue 240 down the street once after it smashed into a parked car and drove off at speed, got his reg plate and handed it to the parked car's owner who returned home later that evening. The police took a statement. Tw@.

Well i an very happy with it, plus i have some paint that was left over and that's about 200ml so plenty of touch up to come.

Nice to see a good reaction to it! South wales if a long old step, and the price to me has to include a few mate of a mate steps, but I would recommend him!

Some thing freaky has happened as well, my 29,9/30ish mpg changed to 32.2 and stayed on 32.2 for the 2 or so miles home, i gave it a footfull but it looked stuck. I reset it, went out again and and getting 34/35mpg......?

Maybe the smack in the back loosened a bit of sludge in the fuel tank or something so it's pushing fuel through better?

Or after that work being done your being extra careful driving lol

I had a 340 hit by a runaway Austin Princess The poor old man had "forgotten" to put the handbrake on.

It'll be due to the reduced drag coefficient, with the smooth new paintwork.
