Your's must be an automatic, just like mine, or you would have it too.
You are quite right! (I put that info in my signature )

You had to add the rear camera for camera augmented parking assistance. It just adds to the standard cartoon style drawing. It doesn't replace it. The rear camera is a very good tool.
That's interesting. I love the concept of up-grade modding. Are you saying that the addition of the camera to the circuit changes the rear parking display? I thought that the steering rack also had to be connected to provide the predicted track display. Is there info on such an upgrade? I like to have a project to mull over in the dark winter months!

Take a look according to this link.
You can see two images of what I mean. The standard graphic display to the right, the camera view, with superimposed lines to the left.

If you come near an obstacle, so that the parking assist system starts beeping, then coloured blocks will appear overlaid on the picture. Green, yellow or red, depending on how close you are to the obstacle.

That's a lot of work. I'm not sure the benefits of the camera justify work which is near to, if not beyond, my personal capability. I like the idea but if I can't summon up the courage to carry it out myself, I doubt whether I can afford to pay specialists to do it and I wasn't dissatisfied with the audible warnings and graphic display just intrigued with the possibility. I think it's one of those jobs that I will never actually get round to carrying out.

It's worth every penny each time you reverse to hitch up a trailer.
