Time to get the hammer and dolly's and filler out has gatos got a spare v40 light unit, looks worse than it is did you get the fella's reg because failing to stop and not report an accident is a criminal offence, all makes claiming off his insurance company alot easier.if not CCTV might track the perpetrator down he's in for a shock if its full of cameras.

It was clearly one of these Gdi naysayers!
Don't give in to the intimidation! Seriously though, what I nightmare; I would be throwing the mother of all tantrums if I were you. Hope it gets sorted as quickly as possible.

So sorry that happened to you Pal but glad you found the culprit. The exact same thing happened to mine a month ago. I'd just parked up on a public road (no cctv), was 100yds down the road and heard the 'clunk'. If I hadn't stood in the road and stopped her, she would have driven off! It was a young mum in a BMW X5 with kids and radio blaring!!
Their insurance has paid for the repair at over £700 but it wouldn't have taken much more of a knock to financially write off my luverly V40. There are some dumb-ass drivers about. Make 'em pay and good luck. '01 V40 2.0ES auto |

I was wondering what hit you with the bumper not being damaged and the body taking it all, until I read further comments.
Hope you get it sorted mate! |

(And our Lard himself!) Are the lard will bestow you with blessings ,as tt82 says hope you get it sorted, some people are complete a holes Druid, but as I say he has shot his bolt because its the law to report an accident in such a time frame, and an offence to also just drive off its hit and run.so he's commited 2 maybe 3 offences there m8, also driving without due care and attention because you should be fully aware of what is around you, what ever veichle you are driving, makes youre life alot easier thats for sure I'd report him to the police, say you took his registration down while he dissapeard into the distance.good luck Last edited by kieran40; Jun 25th, 2014 at 08:21. |

Sorry to see that druid, at least you've got someone to go to. It is a pull and fill job as the rear wing is part of the frame, I would be hesitant to get their garage to do it unless they are expert at SMART type repairs. Shouldn't be too expensive, I saw a dent fill and respray price 'for larger areas' recently (although that is quite large ) that was only £225.

Hope you get this sorted, and soon!
At least it sounds as if you have the culprit fairly and squarely in your sights... David |

Wouldnt give his details out, took it to the police and eventually the guys company paid up to repair it and we did it ourselves. Just a new headlight some trim bits and we bent the wing back out ourselves. |

That's really bad luck, now what it feels like. My wife was parked in the XC70 in Thirsk and got swiped by a horse box pulling in, on the bumper. The driver must have been wearing horse blinkers. Hope it goes well tomorrow. Good luck
