Front and Rear mudflaps
Boost Gauge properly fixed in place
Boost controller properly plumbed in
Tidied up a few bits in the interior
Fit the spare proper Bougicord ignition leads
Replaced the snapped crankcase breather hose
Fit some front door speakers
Replaced some fixing for front headlights/grill
New P/S belt
Fit Headlight protectors
Fixed sagged driver side bolster
Replaced inlet manifold removed EGR (bits left on donor engine car never fitted with one)
Replaced injector seals and filters
Replaced a bunch of vacuum lines
Washed, roof and bonnet clayed and made a start on polishing and waxing

Still bits to tidy up on them, such as the front door speakers are a little deep/wide at the back so got some shallow/smaller magnet ones coming and these can go into the back, need a few new fixings for the mudflaps etc but have been putting off loads of these jobs for at least a year, due to work and health issues but really glad been able to get stuff done feel much better with the car now.

The S60 did get a wash as well, but not really fussed about that one, PCV needs done but that is far more of an arse todo so putting it off,

Need to take the speedo apart and clean up the circuit board and replace the leaky capacitors in it but a little nervous to start that but will get on it soon hopefully
Pictures!

This lockdown I've mostly been doing house and garden things. I'm still working from home 5 days a week, however today I had a day off to do this...

Rebuilt my G80 - the guy I bought it from had cut the fly-weight so it'd lock at any speed. Turned out the pin for the flyweight was also bent - I think this was causing the diff to stick in the locked position sometimes. Drives much better now, and managed to remove, rebuild and refit in 3-4hrs.

Nice one Jim, I've got a g80 axle sat doing nothing and co contemplating fitting it to my 940 is it much work swapping to a g80 diff?

To be honest, I'd recommend fitting the whole axle.

If you fit a different diff to your casing, you ought to get it set up so the backlash between pinion and crown gears is correct. And if the diff ratios are different you'd need to change the pinion or crownwheel over...

As I was keeping the bearings and everything that is clearance-critical the same, I can hopefully get away with just refitting everything the same as it came out.

In normal driving I'm not sure how much you'd notice a g80. A duff one (like mine was) is no fun! I'm looking forward to the next opportunity to test it now - but on the run to the supermarket this evening it was much better in ordinary driving!

Sorry, I've re-read your post and it wasn't clear if you were wanting to swap the diff or the whole axle.

Axle swap is pretty easy, but a bit heavy. Should be do-able in a day - I did mine after work one evening.

It's basically jack the car up, remove handbrake and calipers (calipers can be tied to springs to avoid brake bleeding), disconnect prop, undo all of the bolts holding the axle to the car, and it'll drop out. As Haynes likes to say, assembly is the reverse of dismantling.

Default Lockdown activity!

As I am now hardly using my V90 (I am doing about 5 miles per week!) I decided to connect up my battery charger to ensure the car will start when required. I use a CTEK charger which has a permanent connection to the battery which terminates with a small plug and the charger then plugs in to this battery connection then a lead into the garage for mains connection. It can remain like this until the battery is fully charged. The CTEK charger I am using is model XS 0.8 and is fully automatic. Worth getting if like me mileage has virtually stopped during this coronavirus lockdown.

They have never let me down, just tap them on with a hammer and away you go.
I bought both sets about 20 years ago. I've only had to use them a couple of times but still think it was money well spent. I wouldn't be without them.
