Is it loose/free at the bottom? (There are two sets of screws, one set for the head unit, the other for the main centre console - did you undo the correct ones - easy to get wrong).

If so, there is nothing else holding it in place, pull out and down. I worked around the edge, where I could, with a flat knife, just to help with easing it out.

in mine I had to lever it downwards before pulling outwards. it was a bit sticky yes

IIRC I got a plastic spatula to lever it downwards from the top edge first.

not aware of any other fixings other than the two torx

looks like you need to take off that silver surround first then remove the AC panel first then the headunit is seperate with it's own bolts

different style to mine though, so wait for others to confirm..

dont disconnect AC . on mine i lift, rotate it over and it hangs by the cable to one side down under the steering wheel (go gentle on the cable obvs.)

Yay. Thanks for the tips. Pulling out and down was the key.

Did anyone encounter any problems with the device? My phone connects to it without a problem. I can play music and make calls, microphone is excellent. Though I do hear weird glitches and very short pauses while playing music. They disappear when I restart Bluetooth connection only to come back a few minutes later. Its so annoying. I can't be the placement of the device behind the head unit can it? Bluetooth signal can pass through a concrete wall or two. Can any electrical system in the car cause interference? It cant be my internet connection on my phone. I get a solid uniterrupted playback on Bluetooth earphones. I'm puzzled.

Try pulling down and then out. Mine can be recalcitrant as well.

The fun starts when you refit, the top has to be just in the "right place" but in it goes.

Don't forget, key at position 2 and disconnect the battery negative before you attempt removal and position 2 when you reconnect.

This looks like exactly what I'm after for my V70. For everyone that has gone for it would you recommend the optional microphone?
Where has everyone positioned it?
Cheers!
