On my 3rd Volvo all of which have come with blade keys. 6 keys in total and never had an issue.

Have you come across the fob?

We have two cars and my wife has both sets of keys on one key ring. When she got home (in her car, not the volvo)all she found was the Volvo key blade attached to the key ring. Probably lost 20 miles away so no chance of it being used to steal the car.

She has her own volvo key as we use find the seat memory function very useful - I hate trying to get into the car after she has driven it only to get my knees wedged under the steering wheel.

And she does not play with the key catch. As its keyless entry, they sit on the seat or shut in the console so no bashing or jiggling other than when they are in her handbag.

Out of the 12 responses, one person reports a problem.

Interestingly I recall the dealer who I bought mine from explaining to me very carefully several times about if I have to use the physical key to get into the car (e.g flat battery) then be sure to fully reinsert it back into the key fob and press hard for a click. To the point where it was actually quite condescending! Not that Volvo dealers are known for that sort of behavior of course!!
