Default Anyone on here near Weymouth with an OBD2 reader?

Hi all, as cheeky as I feel asking, I've had my EML come on today in heavy traffic and the heat, not to mention hideous delays (it took us 5 and a half hours to drive from Windsor to Wareham) but come tomorrow we are on the final leg of our caravan holiday, which will be Weymouth for the next 4 days, and I'd be rather keen to get the light off so I have some boost again, and also to find out what the code is, I'd imagine it's an O2 sensor related one as it likes to throw a wobbler from time to time and do this, although normally I just sort it out at work as we have a gendan universal thing that's talks to the t4 via cable and sorts things out, is there anyone local who I could maybe borrow a reader from over these next few days?

Many thanks in advance

Hey, Clarkey, if you've no joy with a code reader you could try disconnecting the battery for 1 hour plus (overnight) or, to discharge the electrical components of the ECU a little quicker, with both leads disconnected join the negative lead with the positive for say...5 minutes. The EML light should go out and code will be stored until deleted with an appropriate scan tool.

Duly noted, thanks for that, I've disconnected the battery and will leave it overnight, apart from I've just realised I've left the windows down, ahh bugger it, it's not gonna rain, it'll be alright.

Hmmm...something must have failed completely or something popped off perhaps after recent works carried out? I take it you've done a visual check on all the small rubber hoses going to the turbo from the Turbo Control Valve (located behind the air filter housing) and all large boost hoses associated with the turbo and intercooler are secure/intact?

Everything looks to be in order, nothing obviously disconnected, and as I've discovered I do in fact still have full boost, maybe a little down on power although that may be due to having a fuel emergency while towing and only being able to get Texaco 95 unleaded as opposed to super, it may also be wirth mentioning that the light was triggered towards the end of a 6 hour towing expedition on a very hot day, whether that has a bearing on anything I don't know.

Plugged the gendan reader in today at work as first day back after holiday, P0133, O2 sensor circuit slow response, sensor 1 bank 1, which makes a change, as the last twice it's thrown the light I've had P0131, sensor voltage low or something, ahh well, reset the light and it's stayed off so far anyway.

Well that lasted long, p0131 today and p0133 pending, so removed the MAF and gave it a spray with contact cleaner, and popped both of the O2 sensors out (so easy to do, 22mm spanner and a connector) and did the same with those, all done in barely 40 minutes and the car does feel quicker, although that may be a placebo effect.
