Default dash board Lights

for some odd reason i have no right hand dash lights, i mean the lights to turn on your lights to main beams and to turn on heated rear window and fog lights.

any idea why gone?bulb or fuse?

also the little green light on the dash to tell me lights are on, which is generally always on, no longer on, but me day running lights are?again bulb or fuse?

any help would be greatly received!

cheers,

matt

Hi,

Most likely it will be your dash and insrumentation lights going..

A suggestion for the instrument bulbs is to replace all the bulbs at the same time..
Based on the fact that once you have changed the faulty/blown ones, and put it all back together, you will likely get a couple more blow in a short while.
The bulbs are about a pound a piece from the dealers. Parts for Volvos or GSF may have them cheaper though.
There are quite a few of them though...!

The dask lights are similar but require careful removal of the panel to access the instruments and bulbs therein..

Certainly check your fuses, but if, as you say the exterior lights are working Ok, then it is more likely to be the bulbs..

Des. . .

Before dismantling everything it's always a good idea to give the offending area a good whack from several directions. More than one of the cars I've owned has had temperamental dash illumination where some of the lights would sometimes go out. A quick whack in the right place and they came back on. Not a permanent solution and won't fix a broken bulb or dodgy connection, but always worth a try if you want to avoid taking the dashboard apart.
