Default Key fob advice

Hi all.

My current key fob is badly damaged and will now no longer stay shut. I got a price of Rufe for a replacement but you can't buy the case seperately, you have to buy the whole thing at £60 a pop (and that will probably need programing for it to work as well). Not wanting to spend that sort of money I had a look at what was on offer on fleabay and found these. However mine doesn't have the boot release button, there it just has a blank with VOLVO on it. Looking at the stuff inside, it appears that there is a button where that blank is.

If I bought that key fob would I have a boot release or would it require more messing around to make it work?

Simon

My V70 remote will release the boot with a double click of the tailgate button, the V40 doesn't do this as there is no switch on the PCB where the tailgate switch should be (just had it in bits to double check).

Both the V70 and V40 are both using the same keyfob external cases from e-bay, with the V40 it just means you end up with a button that doesn't do anything - Mike

You can't go wrong with this one at £3.99 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-BUTTON-V...item460726898c

Yeah, after I submitted the thread I took the keyfob apart, and whilst there is a nipple on the rubber boot where the boot release is, theres no actual button behind it.

Will have to see if I can remove the Volvo blank from the old fob.
