Immobiliser fob programming
Hi everyone, Just joined, first post. My 1996 440 is - I think - a GS; rear spoiler, remote & heated mirrors, e/w, a/c, ABS, SRS, cat, remote c/l, immobiliser, etc. I got a spare remote fob and my local garage confirm it works (i.e. transmits), but how do I programme it to my car, please. I know it involves plugging the selector wire into positiion 1 on the diagnostic unit, but don't know what comes before or after. Can anyone help, please?

Remote Fob
Hi...as far as I know, it can only be done using the diagnostic equipment that dealers have. If it can be programmed by yourself, I'd like to know as well. Do let us know how you get on. Cheers, Sarumboy.

Thanks Sarumboy, I am pretty sure the local garage has a book of 'how to do it', but it didn't work! Maybe they didn't follow instructions rtoo well, maybe you are right and it really can't be done, or maybe the limit on the number of fobs per car - 4, I think - has already been reached. I'll stick with it and let you know.
Kind regards |

Hi There, New to this forum
If your new fob is the same as mine, two buttons on the top, slider on one side and three pins on the other, then it is for a scorpion alarm, and this can only be programmed by scorpion themselves. You will need to send the old fob and the new one to them direct! They do not make this fob any more so are becoming rare. If you want to get hold of them, they do have a web site. Hope all goes well regards Bryn Volvo 460 |
