Default Can the sunroof be manually opened/closed?

Title pretty much says it all. From my Googling so far, haven't found a definitive answer. I would like to know if the sunroof can be manually opened or closed -- e.g. assume no 12v power. Is there a screw or wrench access that permits it to be opened/closed manually.

Cheers!

Well i cannot help you definatively but in my experience ALL electric sunroofs have a removeable plug/cap in the housing to access the motor or drive spindle with a large flat blade screwdriver, but i don't know the Volvos specifically, both my V70 and XC are sunroof-less. (Scottish option!!!)

I remember seeing it done on an XC60 - think it was a screw or allen bolt towards front centre of the sunroof surround.
The interior light and controls were off at the time
Might be worth a look in case a similar design

That was my understanding and why I asked, but for the life of me, I can't find it. Usually the Internet can solve any problem, but I have seen NOTHING on how to open manually and there is nothing in the manual.

I forgot to ask 'why' you need to open it manually, i presume its stopped working, the little that i have read is if you have a dodgy alarm 'that' can stop the sunroof operating, also a low battery can play havoc with the car modules,,,, just had a look on another site and it was suggested to try locking and unlocking the car key in door method 2 or three times and this was successful in rebooting itself and the sunroof becoming operational again,,,, ?

The electronics have fried due to a water ingress problem.

Yeah, water has that effect unfortunately..

The info i read was for a V70 but it entails removing the courtesy light lenses,
then you will see a couple or three torx screws holding the console/facia on, wiith this off you should hopefully see where to stick your big screwdriver on the motor spindle to close your roof. Can't be difficult?
