My post was based on your post I have re-read my post and re-read your post and my post remains 100% accurate - the Range calculation is NOT from when you filled your tank last, but based on RECENT driving The big unknown is how far back the RECENT calculation goes.... a few hours? days? kilometers?

One thing I did not take into account is I fill up when I have around 60,70 miles still left in the tank so it could be more like 400miles from a tank. I had ---- left in the tank today (I done this on purpose) and the light was on and the needle was on the bottom half of the red. I placed a full tank of fuel (1st click of pump to stop) in the car this morning which was: 61.64 litres £1.329 £/l Total, £81.92 Car states I have 520miles till empty but fully understand this can change depending on driving style. We do come from a 400bhp 535d twin turbo bmw f11 and a 517bhp v10 M5 so our driving style could need a tweak maby? Also our car has only had 1 owner from new (not played about with) and does have a 'polstar' emblem on the tailgate, can you tell if it's a genuine one as this could have an effect on mpg? If I post back my miles then we can work out my MPG if you guys can help work out?? Ryan. |

Say you do 475 miles and then fill up with another 61.64 litres. 61.64 divided by 4.546 is 13.56 gallons. 475 divided by 13.56 is 35.03 MPG.

A proper Polestar should be recorded in the vehicle papers and also labeled in the engine bay My official Heico tune is: full paperwork and engine bay label.

The D5 is an old engine. My average displayed mpg is about 31mpg. I get about 20-25mpg round town and about 35mpg on a motorway run. Actual range on the motorway with a full tank is about 400 miles.
My car is a 2010 200PS Exec-it’s not a round town economical car. There’s a lot of people on here that seem to have a different car to me. Either they’re lucky or fibbing (or ‘better’ drivers). I’ve got a Leaf for town use |

Always seem to be getting 32-34 which am very happy with, especially as new model gets similar MPG as published in Honest John's real mileage page.
The 'old' engine is the Penta used in marine applications so has to be built to very high spec and will go on for ever, if looked after. This was changed in new XC90 and so will not be built to same high spec as the Penta because not in Volvo's interests to over engineer it. This is one of the reasons I bought the MK1 - I love it and will keep it for as long as I can with knowledge that will become easier to maintain as more knowledge on the typical problems are published. |

Edit, just found a 2006 XC90 manual online and it confims the same 30KM. Last edited by Bendolfc; Aug 22nd, 2018 at 12:04. |
