Default Idle Low/ Drop out

Has anyone had problems with when starting idle is so low it drops out and stalls? Car runs perfectly fine after 5 mins. Would it be worth me cleaning the idle control valve or would the problem lay elsewhere?

thanks

I had the same issue. A cleaning of the ICV totally addressed my issues. Note that as an interim measure I discovered that if I floored the gas while turning the engine over that I could get it running as long as I then kept the RPM's at about 2000 for a couple of minutes.

Cleaned the valve , it didn't seem to dirty, but whilst doing it realised how slack the throttle cable was , so have now adjusted that and the problems have gone. How many revs should i have it idling at?
