Default Weber carb linkage pics...

I realize I risk starting up the whole SU's vs Weber debate all over again but I just have a simple request... Does anyone have a Weber on Cannon manifold conversion with a linkage that they like that I could see a good photo of, or two? Even better would be a source for parts or even better, a kit! I'm trying to sort mine out which was sort of cobbled together by the PO. It has some weird angles and unconventional connections which give it an on/off kind of feeling on start from a stop that I'd like to improve.

Yes, I aspire to going back to SU's ( I think!) at some point but for a while at least I'm gonna dance with the one that bring me, as they say... The car is my '67 two door that started life with an auto and is now a B20/M40 drivetrain.

I'm posting this both sides of the pond. All of a sudden I've got it in my head to get this thing set up properly. Spring is right around the corner!

Thanks for any help and let the games begin!

Here's one of mine, sorry about the poor quality, if you need better / up close ones, I can take a few when I get back from being out of town.

Thanks Darel, yes; clearer and more would be good. Mine is really funky and the whole thing really needs to be redone so, if you like yours, and its nice and linear, my goal is to recreate it. I can improve it on my own but don't feel the need to reinvent the wheel here...

I'll take some pics and upload them this weekend for you - is there anything in paprticular you need to see?

I can write a 'how to' for the set up if you like (installed my carb 4 years ago but I'm sure I can remember what I did!).

Hey Mike, just good clear shots so I can get the angles right, etc. Haven't quite got the hang of posting pics yet but you'd probably get a bit of a laugh if you saw mine... It does work, but it just isn't right. For one thing, the main horizontal rod suspended in bushings is actually two rods brazed together and together, they still aren't long enough to reach the threaded boss in the manifold so the forward end of that rod is kinda hanging out over the manifold and located by a piece of strapping so it stays put. Then, to make up for the fact that the rod(s) aren't long enough, the tab on the carb itself is extended with a duplicate piece brazed onto the original.
I could go on but you get the idea... definitely needs some attention. I'm a metalsmith with a shop so I can fab any parts I cant find but trying not to make work for myself. This is just one of those little things I'd like to get right...

A Google image search for "Volvo B18 Weber" will find you lots of pix.

Hey Derek,
Yes, I have googled quite a bit but you'd be surprised how tough it is to find a shot of the linkage from the right angle. I found a german site with a very nice pic but its only one angle and I'm not sure I understand it and it looks deceptively simple... so the search continues!

And I love simple. It's usually the best!
