I wouldn't think that the company would have made another press tool for an alternate set of grilles, far to expensive. Considering the number that were probably sold they might well have been hand made after a batch of rings were spun up. This late style of grille, without the spot holes, is available new, and these are probably from the original maker.

You do have a point, and I agree it do seem strange, but all I can say is that the details have differences to the std grill, the edges on these are much sharper than on the other 67-70 grill,s I have, and the luster of the alloy also seem different.
I will make you some pictures (some day) so you can judge for yourself.

I had the rotating handle Golde on a left hand drive B20 I bought from a German and later sold to a Portuguese girl, who drove it back there. It was a good quality accesory, but I though I used it I never thought of it as something special in those days. about 1978

Rare thing nice accessory - thanks for sharing your story.

We found a 122 on the scrappie, with a Golde metal sliding roof.

Went back, and removed the whole roof, and grafted the section with the sunroof, into a 123GT that had one of them cheap unfortunate 80ies glass hatches

I have seen atleast 8 Amazon - 1 PV544 with Golde folding fabric roof,s, and 6 Amazon with Golde sliding metal roof,s (sliding or winding type) a few 1800 were also fitted with Golde metal roof,s
and on the 140 / 60 series they became much more normal. I have seen dozens of each model on those cars, especially the 140 GL, and 164 E in metallic colours use to have them fitted.
Volvo fitted these right up to the 740/60 series.
Maybe they still do ? but these days the handles dont say Golde anymore.

If you have access to any Golde spare parts you may find make friends with Jon who had the problems in this thread. He's not a frequent visitor here but maybe just a reader so a pm to him might be the best plan if you can help.

These are the rare 281057 which were only sold as an accessory.

The ones you see on a GT are the 281056, which also were made as repro a few years back.

The difference on the 2 types are the size.
Hi Jens, I thought your only passion was Mini shaped?? Cheers,JD(JDmac)
