Default 2011 S60 RDesign Drive all injectors failed

[FONT="Arial"][SIZE="2"]

I bought a 6 month old S60 Rdesign Drive 1.6D in May 2012 from Volvo Warrington. It had been registered to the dealership and used by one of their Managers. Since then it has been regularly serviced by them.

In March 2017 the car developed a fault, the car went into limp mode and the DSTC warning light came on with a message to say the traction control required a service. The Volvo Assist mechanic said it was an injector failure and towed it to the Volvo dealership who confirmed it was the injector. This was the first £600 to replace it. The second failure came 4 months later in July and the repeat message as for the first one, this was the second nearly £600. I was told the first one was unlucky but the second one was unfortunate. Low and behold I was going to a funeral last week and had a repeat performance only this time the last two out of the 4 had failed. By the time we had changed to the wifes car and reached the Church the service was over. The estimate for these 2 are nearly £1200. The fuel filters have been replaced as per service schedule and for the last couple of years have been using the better grade diesel.

Has anyone out there had similar problems where all 4 have injectors have gone.

I'm new to this forum

Seems like more than coincidence.

Any chance you've ever put petrol into the tank? Otherwise I'm guessing that the high pressure pump may somehow be damaged and so shedding metal particles into the injection system?

Thanks for the reply but no I've never mixed the fuels up. After the first injector went I told the Service Guy I'd changed to a higher spec fuel instead of supermarket grade. He said that it should have run Ok on the lower grade. When I spoke to the Workshop Technician last week after he'd tested the injectors, he went on more about corrosion to the Injectors. Can't see this as a higher spec is less water present. The annoying thing is on some other makes of cars the injectors are sold as sets and cheaper but on the S60 they're sold as individual. Maybe Volvo weren't anticipating multi failure

Can't find on the forum if other members have had all injectors fail. Bad batch ????
