You must be gutted - you've got dirt on the tyres

Superb job though, looks stunning.

Dare I ask how much 76 man hours of detailing cost?!!

The finished pictures are incredible. I often see an old car, and wonder how it looked when it was new. Your 780 looks like its only just rolled out the factory.

Seeing the internal photos reminds me how much i miss the leather seats from my old 740, the seats in my 850 just don't compare.

Wow it looks like a new car!!

I would be very proud of it and would be worried to death of some yob damaging it. I would always leave someone in the car when its not kept in a secure locked area. I would also fit a tracker system and an engine immobiliser. It looks fabulous and you would never think it was so old by the showroom condition. I would also have it insured on an agreed value insurance cover. I bet it puts a smile on your face!! James.

Fantastic finish aswell. For amateur detailer like myself, posts like this just inspire us to try harder on every car.

You must be absolutley delighted with the end result!
I certainly am. The paintwork has really come back to life and all that metallic flake is showing of really nice now.

Exact figure I'll keep to myself....but missus think I am nuts!

But from what I understand, a basic detailing starts from around £200 or so. What really adds up are the products you want, ie the best of everything.

Yes, I am very worried when I drive it that someone will hit it or something. Never drive it in the dark (usually not, but I did tonight!) and its parked behind some very high gates (only the electric fence missing!).

Agreed value? Yup, all done. :-)

Thank You all for your very nice comments. Really appreciate it.

As I've said in "my" topic in the Showroom section, I intend to keep this car for many years to come and yes, I do spend more on this that I probably should. But I want to.

You are nice to your car, the car will be nice back!

The detailing did cost quite a bit but now I do get my own satisfaction from knowing that the paintwork will last for may years to come.

I have also done a few things to the engine bay, ie changing various hoses, clips, gaskets, cleaned this and that etc (many thanks to a forum member...) as well as changed a few missing/broken etc parts inside and out. Simple things that really gives me pleasure in driving it.

Of course, I do get a few looks now (well, not me but the car!!) and I really enjoy it.

Example, drove homw from the detailer yesterday. Stopped at a traffic light, van driver behind me, pulls up next to me and then sticks his head out the window and his eyes almost popped out! He then started talking to me asking what car it was, where from etc etc never seen one and so on.
