Radio/Stereo: Sc-801 aux input hack

ok mate thats no problem, my standard MOD used female Phono anyway.

One thing I WILL say, I have up to now, only modded one SC805, and that was a few months ago. Back then I had to leave the tape deck installed and fool the unit using a blank cassette. Now, I believe I should be able to do this no tape hack on the 805, but have not actually done so. That is why i wanted to located a unit myself first to try it.
However, i will try yours if you wish. If you are supplying the lead, then send me the unit and £20 and I will cover return cost within that.

I dont mind having to fool the unit with a blank tape would we need the tape to be constantly running though? I wonder if the motor could be disengaged?

as I said, last time i had to fool the the tape. I used a blank cassette, fitted permanently in the unit, with the door glued shut. Yes it spins when you select TAPE but stops when you select Radio. But I am hoping this time to be able to fool it like the 801 with a detector voltage

I may be able to sort your postage problem out for you Bobby, I have a parcel force account and can get parcels collected and delivered from and too you on their 24 hours service for £8.25 each journey providing you are not classed as Highlands & Islands when it becomes a bit more expensive. This will go up in January as they are imposing VAT on delivery services. Being on the 24 hour service they are automatically insured for £100 and trackable. I simply go online and book them. I have it because I run www.dogswheels.com I would like to get my 805 modded too and would have no problems paying you to do this my last Volvo changer unit was diabolical jumping all the time yet the one in my Voyager is great as was the one in my Citroen XM.

I have already removed the tape deck and glued the tape slot shut, it's just a case of soldering the wires to the right places

I've already done the same to an 805, but not put an aux socket on the front. The cable feeds out the back of the unit, which i've tucked underneath the passenger kickplate works like a charm!

did you 'fool' the unit and remove the tape deck?

thanks but i already have a good service. i use parcelmonkey, and get next day citylink for £7 plus VAT.

the issue is buying the units. From Fleabay, people are whacking £12-15 on for postage, so if i buy the unit on there for £30, inc post i am already £45 down, and need to recoup that plus costs

Not yet bobby, i've looked around the curcuitboard, and there is a detector line in there but I can't fool it into thinking theres a tape in it. Is it a 2 volt voltage that the detect uses?

it is on the 801's but as i have said, i have not yet tested this on the 805's I need to obtain one to test this
