Default Tail/Brake Light problem

This is irritating!

Normally, the o/s brake light switches on the tail light (dim).
With the side lights on, it puts the lamp out all together?!

Any suggestions as to what is going on?

cheers

James

James,
You have a textbook case of a bad earth on that light cluster.
Check the connections and rectify as required.
Colin.

very common prob. Clean up the point where the plastic socket touches the earth bar on both the tail light and the stop/tail light sockets. I would use Ultrasolv together with very fine emery paper. Should solve all your problems.

This was my first thought (and is the root if 90% of light problems, innit?...besides blown bulbs...!). Anyway, I sanded the contacts, and guess what....

cheers guys :)
