ABS problems
hi, my ABS warning light and skid lights keep coming on, often when I turn right. If it is just the skid light, the engine loses power. Yesterday I changed the ABS reluctor ring at the O/S front and checked the fuses. Last month I cleaned the ABS sensor. It's a Volvo S80 2002 2.4. Have we any ideas what I should do next? Perhaps someone recalls an old thread they can send me to? I hope someone can help...

Have you cleared all the codes?

Have you checked the hub bolts fro tightness? IIRC I've read several threads where this has been reported to cause this sort of issue.
Might be worth getting the codes read with VIDA/DiCE to see what's logged. Seems to me if you're getting power loss, the traction control may be detecting a loss of rotation at one wheel and cutting in to reduce power and the apparent wheelspin - suspect ABS reluctor rings, ABS sensor or similar cause.

If you want to guess, then a fault when turning right would more likely be on the left driveshaft bolt/abs ring/abs sensor

Okay thank you. I think the n/s ring was changed a year a go or so. But I should look at it I suppose. |

ABS nearly sorted
Thank you all for your help. It seems as if the problem was we changed a good reluctor ring and left the broken one on the car! Now they are both changed. However the n/s wheel was missing the black rubber bush that can be seen in this photo. Does anyone know where I can get one, except from a Volvo dealer? The n/s is singing to me now, a note of C and a note of B. Why has it started singing?
