That's a dust cover for the wheel bearing. Not too expensive at Volvo, or easy to find at any breakers. It's installed one way only.

Default ABS/DSTC warning lights

Hi, am new to forums, don't know much about cars and am based in France!
I have a 2012 XC60 running perfectly but ABS/DSTC warning lights just appeared and also message "city safe service required". The ABS seems to be working fine. Volvo says the error code relates to RH front wheel sensor. They want to change the sensor AND THE TRANSMISSION SHAFT at a cost of 1,100£ !!! Your forum seems to say it could be just the reluctor ring - what is that, where is it and can I insist Volvo only change that?
Many thanks for any help/advice you can give.

You're in the wrong section for your car and year and you'll probably find that abs rings are built into the driveshaft and are not changeable on their own.

Default reluctor rings. The same process on S80 and S60 I think.

This is a brilliant video. Once tooled up, it's an easy job.
