Default 1986 Volvo 240 GL Saloon Problem with loss of Dipped Beams

My 1986 Model Volvo 240 GL Saloon has a recent problem with loss of illumination from both Dipped Beam headlights. Its not the bulbs. I've changed the headlight Relay with only brief improvement and you can hear both new and old relay operate so seems that isn't the issue. I considered swapping out the Step Relay, but Main Dealer advised unlikely to be that. I'm considering changing out the 3 position Light Switch on Dashboard to see if Dipped Beam position contacts have failed. Any thoughts on probable causes and related issues welcomed. Since Light Switch no longer current Volvo part If anyone is breaking a 240 and has a Light switch they can spare I'd be interested.

I had this a few years ago on mine and it turned out to be the indicator stalk that was faulty.

Assume full beam is working fine?
