Quite so Stephen...

Why does Dai have to live in bloomin' Anglesey? Eh?

I can see a trip to the North Wales narrow gauge railways coming on which also involves asking mr ClassicSwede to work his magic on my beleagered bus!

And anyway both of you, there is contemplation of a move to Swansea as it happens. I think unlikely tho!

I've never used them, but GB Auto's, 16a Cheam Common Road, Worcester Park, Surrey KT4 8RW are Volvo specialists. I have been there but only to see the boss's Volvo 164 (!), there were several Volvo's awaiting attention and their workshop (a bit hidden behind some shops) was very clean and tidy.
Needless to say, no connection to me but maybe worth a call.

You could try Charlwood Volvo (or what used to be) near Gatwick

http://charlwoodautomotive.com/

Worth a phone call anyway

Have a day out hear Bicester and visit Graham at Horton Cars (member Horton on here). He will sort a loan car whilst they work on yours. He has been in the marque for many years.

Again thanks - I pass Bicester several times a year en-route to Derby so that's interesting.

Thanks all

Thanks Triple S

Glenn at GB Autos (in the end I went to GB because if nothing else - Worcester Park is about 4 miles from where I live...) has made some significant progress on my mota. 2 out of 3 long term problems resolved and the third in hand. So thanks Triple S - a very useful tip off

Anyone else on the forum in SW London wanting someone who knows their Volvos, Glenn is worth a try. His rates are reasonable and he was helpful, knowledgeable and runs quite a few Volvos himself...

Would that be http://www.inglesidegarage.co.uk/ ??

My father in-laws Volvo 240GLE on a 1988 plate went through its MOT today (23/11/2018) only to pass but then fail to start when they tried to drive it back off the ramp.

Just when I need to source parts find that the most helpful and dedicated Volvo guy is closing ?? thats a terrible day for Classic Volvo's
