you'd have done better to get a VIDA + DICE setup for around the same, if not less than you paid for the icarsoftbi906.

Not much talks to these cars so I would return that and get the above. That'll point you in the right direction.

Hi, thanks for the reply but isn’t Vida/dice only for Windows XP, I’m stuck with Windows 10(which is garbage btw) which is why I went for the hand reader ?

Did you blank off the EGR? If it’s seized up unplugging it won’t make any difference. You can buy a blanking kit off eBay that’s easy to fit. I kept getting mis-starts on my 06 V50 until I blanked off the EGR and then it was fine after. Are you having any issues with your oil level mysteriously rising?

HI, she’s got a brand new egr and it’s made no difference, the reader though needs the engine to be running for all the parameters to show and I’m getting a couple of dtc codes but none to do with the power train.
I’m wondering if anyone has a link to the engine parameters, for instance, my inlet manifold pressure is showing 1021 hpa,
Boost pressure is at 1029 hpa
Turbo control valve is showing 60 %

So that I can review these with good numbers.

Cheers David

Default Update re defect of sluggish acceleration, black smoke,

Hi all
After a few discussions with the main stealer they have reluctantly given me the read out of the diagnostic check that they ran on the vehicle and the results are thus;
CCM-DD16 damper motor distribution no communication
No fault found after update

CCM-DD33 damper motor, defroster no communication.
No fault found after update

CEM-6F83 dimmer faulty signal

EPS-0071 power supply signal too low

EPS-0080 steering angle sensor faulty signal

EPS-E003 configuration fault faulty signal
No fault found after update

ECM
No fault found

ECM-pressure sensor particulate filter
1112.32 hPa
(Differential pressure more than 100 hPA replacement required)

I’m guessing here that the dpf is the culprit here and Volvo are saying that it needs to be replaced , the question I’ve got to ask is , is the dpf toast and is it really a replacement or is there a possibility of a clean and replace and if so, any recommendations down around London and the surrounding areas of a Indy for the work please ?

Many thanks as always for your advice.

Cheers

Might be worth checking the Sensor for the DPF and the 2 pipes going to it first,
I think the readings can be checked "Live" using Vida / Dice to check they are altering with revs. Also will check for correct reading with engine shut down.
The pipes can become blocked/broken to give false readings as well as the sensor being defective.
Shame to change the DPF and still have a sensor/pipe problem.

Cheaper than a DPF to rule this out first.

Picked up my DPF from here

https://www.cats2u.co.uk/

Took about 40 mins to fit myself.
Been fitted for 4 years with no issues.
Iain

Hi Iain. Many thanks for the reply and recommendation. I’ll have a look at those pipes and recheck Vida for the code. Cheers

Sorry, forgot to ask, do you need to have the fluid topped up by Volvo after it’s been fitted ?

hi all. An update on this issue. Well after changing the injectors a while ago which cured the issue. It reappeared a couple of weeks ago. Black smoke, unburnt diesel smell from exhaust, awful fuel eco and sluggish, not So that it was in limp mode but pretty poor.
Volvo couldn't find the defect. Vida/dice neither all parameters were in the expected zone. Gave up and was about to start looking for a replacement when a friend said.......have a look at the glow plug relay......and after a £30 part from Autodoc.co.uk in Germany....v reasonable prices btw. No relationship apart from a happy customer.
problem resolved.
Hope this helps someone who may be, like me driving themselves to drink with their car.

Cheers Gremlin
