Best dedicated Volvo event I've ever been to - so much rare stuff in the autojumble and the traders so helpful. I came back loaded!
However, I too no longer have a passport...... Perhaps I ought to renew.

You should Paul, you know what a great event it is with so many friendly enthusiasts and sellers.

I'll be seeking out a few rare items this year.

Certainly looks a good show from the images i found online but obviously being Europe based, the vast majority of attendees/exhibitors will be European.

Just a thought, might be worth making the effort to go this year as next might pose problems once we've left the EU. I've been thinking of buying a car in Europe. I fancy a Peugeot 504 Coupe, but after leaving (again) might prove difficult and/or more costly.

J.

N.B I imported quite a few new cars from Europe in the late 90s and early 00s, so understand the potential pitfalls, but we're about to enter a whole new ball game and the rules have yet to be written.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-1973.../253741269450?

Good luck finding UK spec headlamps for it though! I can't remember if they ever did a UK spec 504 Coupé or Cabriolet, i know they did a 304 Cabriolet but try finding one these days - most have rotted out and those that haven't are jealously guarded by their owners!

The 504 Coupe and Cabriolet were only sold in the UK in LHD form, although RHD conversions were available from Hodec. I'm happy buying a car in France and UK spec headlamps will not be a concern.

Or I may buy another Yank, quite fancy a Galaxie Station Wagon.

Have you got a set of UK headlamps for it then Jon or do you plan to keep it abroad?

As for a Galaxie, good luck finding one of those as well! That said at least you would have good spares back up from Rock Auto for the Galaxie.

With the Pug, unless you found one with the B27E engine, apart from the very basic service parts (plugs, points, condensor etc) most bits are NLA, certainly in terms of panels.

The plan is to keep it in France, as for the Galaxie I have good contacts in the USA so sourcing a car will not be a challenge. My 500E is sold and gone, so I'm having a think about cars, still have the 300CE and plan to sell my E21.
