XC 60 Premuim Audio?
Does anyone know if the Premuim Audio System comes with the rear seat head phone connections as standard? I am about to order a MY12 D5 SE Lux Premuim.

No it does not.
Are they still available as an option? |

The rear seat audio-thingy came standard on mine with the premium soundsystem, but you should call the dealer to get the correct answer for todays model if they have changed this now.

My understanding is it doesn't come with Premium any more nor is it available as an option in the current price list.
Bit annoying really as I might have considered it, whereasthe rear DVD thingy at a grand is out of the question. |

any thoughts on whether the subwoofer is needed with the premuim audio? seems powerful enough but how is the bass?

I have the premium audio plus sub, and can whole-heartedly recommend both. There's a bit of boominess with the default EQ settings, but that's easily dialled-out. With the sound stage set to "driver", it's the best factory-fit in-car audio I've heard (at least as good as some rather exotic self-installed stuff in "me yoof", though that did go a lot louder).

I agree entirely with SCW and VolvoXc60....the standard bass can be very boomy. The sub does away with all of the reverb and echo of the standard bass and you can leave it set to +1 or +2. The only downside is that you'll want to enjoy your fave tunes at maximum volume!
