Default Do the S60s like summer and hot weather?

Thread 2 of mine today is based on the S60's sentient mind... or not

On a cold morning, the engine is louder, it doesnt want to go anywhere. Its almost like its saying leave me in bed.

I've been off work for the last 4 days and the s60's been parked up for about 2 days without driving.
Woke up today on a blinding day at 29c outside, got into the car and I dont think the car has run better since I've had it!

It was suddenly a smooth drive and it really wanted to go!
D5se S60 2005 (55plate model).

No need to reply or anything, just wanted to hear thoughts if others found the car prefered the summer like we do

There is the theory that colder and denser air promotes better combustion so it should work better on colder mornings. Not sure if that holds true with forced induction as the air temp would largely depend on the efficiency of the induction and intercooler.

Diesels will always be a tad "clattery" when starting from cold, and this is emphasised even more so on a cold morning.

29 degrees? Where do you live? LOL.

I went outside to my car this morning and it was 9 degrees @ 4.30am on the way to work.

Definately works for f/induction engines, I notice a HUGE difference in our T5's on a cold crisp morning compared to 35'c temps on a hot summer day!

T5, I should ask you the same Q!
It's been 29-30 all day today in harrow, london!

Time for you to move I think. Apparently it is just as hot tomorrow so another nice drive :->
