Default Open all your doors after rain?

Just doing some stuff on the car and needed to open the rear door. We've just had the heaviest rain since getting the car and quite a bit of water came out of the drain holes. I opened all the other doors and the same thing happened. Now I know that that's what the drains are for but I've never seen this quantity of water with any other vehicle. In future I'll make sure that I 'empty' the doors regularly - it could be the case that the rear doors don't get opened for some time - makes me wonder how full they could get

Anyone else noticed this?

regards

As it absolutely hammered down last night I have just checked mine. A got a little dribble out of the rear nearside door but the others were clear. There are two quite large drain holes in each door so I guess it depends on whether the car is parked level or not. The holes are a little way in from each end so theoretically water could gather either end if the car was parked on a slope.

EDIT: I just realised you have an XC

Mine appears to be fine....I would clean the drainage the best you can and "wax oil" the holes...no doubt in years to come, this will be one of the many weak points on the s60......

Good idea about the Waxoyl - what I'll probably do is keep my eye on it and then talk to the dealership about it at the three month service. They're pretty good and my guess is that they'll either tell me that it's already accounted for or they'll take some action like you suggest.

If I remember I'll post back the result
