Default Ipd - usa

Chaps
Does anybody have an iPd serpentine belt tensioner for a 1995 or thereabouts 850 ? If so does it fit and do the job ?

Reason I ask is I am prob going to replace the belts on my 850 and can't be fagged to go trekking around for 3/4 inch quadrant and making my own tool if I do not have to.

In addition to asking to borrow ( Pnut I guess you have one ! ) if there were sufficient interest I would consider placing an order with iPd and having it shipped via my bro who works for a USA company thereby saving on shipping costs - I see amazon want more for the shipping than the tool costs.

Chaps let me know and what about their cam holding block anybody think any good ?

Can't help apart from suggesting a piece of flat steel accross the hole and a pair of mole grips.

Would be interested in your shipping solution though.
I've been thinking of getting one of their cam timing wheels so I can dial out the overlap on my N/A cams on the T5.

I think I might regret not making the time to come over to you in past few weeks. My baby almost sailed the mot but Bernie at lakes is having grief tracing and cancelling the SRS dash light - he does not have the vol - frm or whatever the hell it is called - so I have a mota with no mot parked up 50 miles away !!!!

Moral of the story never refuse the kind hand of help !!!

Found that tool yet !

Pnut - but having the dash warning light on IS an mot fail hence my problem ! I am waiting for Isela or whatever they are called to come back to me re what the software does not do but of course even that does not resolve my prob. How easy is it to remove the bulb as this might be the only solution, then replace when / if I by the col software ?????

Daddy let me know precisely what you want and I shall try and agree a price with you - my bro says his company would be willing to help for a small contribution to shipping costs - a small price to pay for a ride in the belly of a 747 !

I am prob gonna try and place an order by close Sunday and have to order £ 150 or thereabouts to get free shipping to one of his offices in the states

I took out the ABS bulb to get mine through. "A non functioning bulb is insufficient reason to fail". Maybe not the exact wording but suffice to say if the light is on and stays on it points to a fault and a fail. If the bulb is not lit it may be a broken bulb and not a fault in the ABS.

The owners manual also states if a fault occurs in the abs then it does not affect the brakes to function correctly.but take the vehicle to your local dealer as the antilock braking system will not function.
If the mot guy asks if you took out the bulb? Say it just stopped working all by itself!.otherwise you are taking the place of the bulb by saying there is a known fault.

How did we cope back in the days before all this technologie?
Brian.

If you have already tested the car & it has failed I think rectification of the system would be better....

Taking the bulb out takes about 20 minutes!

I could not agree more which is why I have given Bernie at Lakes Ilesa's details. I will prob end end up buying if myself as well given what a decent and understanding company they are but me having it ain't much use at the mo as i do not have the time to do a return trip Forest Gate to Wyboston on public transport.

I now know how to remove the bulb in consequence of savvying up my order from IPD - replacement odometer cog !

Have to say I am astonished the community did not show any real interest in my offer to import at greatly reduced freight costs - but as the big fella would no doubt say " your loss not mine !! " $64 minimum to be precise !!
