94 850 estate for salvage(please save from crusher!)
Hi there, I recently obtained a `94/M 850 GLT 2ltr/20v estate which had sadly been forgotten about by its owner and had been standing in a garage for 5 years and then a further year outside! I spied the car and after making contact with the owner I brought it home with the intention of using it as a donor car for my 850 saloon. As it stood it would have been a reasonable car to put back on the road as overall condition is ok and with only 115000 on the clock, but my need for a few parts was greater than even starting to think about re-instating! So I will be taking the front wings and bumper and various small parts but the rest of the car is more than worth using i.e all other body interior and engine. I have not been able to start the car due to what appears to be a failed or stuck fuel pump. The engine turns over fine and did so the day I took a fresh battery to it (considering length of time the car stood). So if any one out there is in need of a replacement engine, interior, doors, bonnet, tailgate etc then this would make a great donor car. I would rather this than send to the local metal recycler. I am only looking for scrap type value but do want to sell in one piece and obviously would need to be trailered. The car is a dark met blue with the part cloth/leather interior, there is a dog guard and a tow bar fitted on car. For more details please feel free to PM me, many thanks David

I have a set of wings (and bonnet) in olive green and a bumper in red or dark grey in mid wales (not a million miles away) for cheap, if this car were to be reassembled and put on the road?
good luck anyway, hated having to take mine for scrap save the Volvos!

Thanks for reply, quite agree with the "save the Volvo's", if my circumstances were different I would be cleaning and oiling and selling a complete car as I've seen a lot worse examples out on the road!

Update on "please save from crusher"
Hi everyone, further to my post yesterday, I have been feeling adventurous this morning and have removed the fuel pump and it is definitely faulty as it receives power and gets warm when turning engine over. So I will now try and get a replacement so I can at least fire her up to prove she is a runner. Will phone around the motor factors but in the mean time has anyone out there got a pump they want to sell?? Thanks for reading this. David

fuel pump kit
GSF do a fuel pump repair kit for less that £100. You use the existing husing and to be fair its a pertty simple job.
Price of a complete pump from volvo is akin to robbery with violence.

Thanks br850, that's a similar price to Euro car parts, going down the breakers route if I can find one as the car will be going to the scrap yard anyway if no one wants to make use of it, shame as many GOOD parts on it.

Dog Guard
Hey there.
Is the dog guard the hydraulic one that folds up into the roof? If so, would you consider removing it and selling it to me? |

Unfortunately it is not, it's just the basic type that clips to back of seats when down, and to roof clips when up. If any good to you then yes, I can remove it for you. Thanks, David |
