However the front seats which are regularly scrubbed by use, sucks up the gliptone cream like a sponge so the leather effectively decides if it needs feeding.

Another vote for Gliptone.
I use it on our Jaguar and Range Rover following a clean with a mild dilution of All Purpose Cleaner agitated with a soft bristle brush and wiped clean with a towel. Gliptone is applied after the leather has dried and is left to soak in. The coating comments I can go along with, but each time I have used both cleaner and Gliptone on the cars above (2003 and 2007 models respectively), there is a marked difference in suppleness and feel, not to mention that wonderful smell. The only car where it's not had much of an effect is the leather on our W210 E55, so I can only assume that is coated but the leather in this model feels very different - harder, less supple. I ought to clean and treat the leather steering wheel on my C30.

I only keep my cars for about 10 years so I haven't had the need to treat the leather.

Gliptone for me as well!
I've used it for years and the added bonus is the smell of leather when it is used.
