Exclamation just seen an add with this on it

an add on gumtree belfast for a 940 look at this picture is the guy for real?

if anyone take this as prove of a belt change then pity help them.

maybe the belt has been changed but it must always be proven by a garage receipt at the very least a stick on label like this, no way.

My old V70 had nothing on it saying the cambelt had been done - that was at 110k when I got it and 125k when I sold it.

You'll only get a "cambelt done" sticker if you have it done at a garage - if you've done it yourself I can see nothing wrong with a Dymo label! Better than a paper label I suppose!!

Tippex or a permanant marker

Cheapskate eh?

You can buy service stickers off Ebay Iam sure, to say when oil, timing belts etc have been done, a sticker does look good and professional

These days you need to be careful, you can buy "Service History" online to increase a cars value, if in doubt I would get the belts changed just for peace of mind, just cause its written down it doesnt mean its been done, I might sound ver suspicious but I know some dodgy bastids who have done this, pure greed, but it still happens, be careful

Then again, on a b230ft/fk If the cambelt snaps, It doesnt matter, Just a new belt and away you go again! no valves partying with the pistons... Just a job for the AA to get you home!
Personally, I think that the label is good, Most garages/home machanics dont bother with that practice, I make sure I note when My belt is due on the service book.

Someone went to the trouble to make the label. Don't think it was done to fool anyone, but be that as it may, If I were buying her I would put a new belt on her no matter what.

I'd say it was a local garage. Ours has things written in marker...

An easy way to increase the value of a used car, these are just a few simple examples on the first page of ebay, but you will find much more convincing stuff if you actually look, just be careful folks, there are some real conmen about:

TBH Brian @jumpleads ALWAYS writes the Mileage when the Cam belt was done on MY Cam Belt Cover .. Not so much as to "Prove" (to others) its bin done but to Remind ME when it was done ..

ANY car I buy (From an Unknown source) I get the cam belt changed as soon as possible anyhow
