Boot won't close off button..
Opens on remote and dash buttons but nothing when I press button on the tailgate to close... Anyone know which fuse its fed from? wiring diagrams seem to be a secret on the web!..I'll test the switch in the morning..

There will be one fuse for the motor, so if it opens ok, it won't be a fuse. Probably either switch or wiring around the hinge.
Did it used to work?

Only just bought it.. Wasn't working then.. But don't expect everything on a 10 year old car to work... I'll see if I can find a switch to try..

It won't. It's assumed that it's because of a Volvo safety feature as opposed to an oversight but you can only close the boot from the tailgate button! Less chance of you closing it with something or somebody in the way then.
A Russian guy has created a module which allows the boot to be closed via the fob and the dash button. He's a member of the forum but your best contacting him via his e-mail address - https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showp...&postcount=162 |

Unless I'm misreading the OP, he's saying that he cannot close the tailgate on the tailgate button.:

Or it could be something simple such as a sticky handle. The handle on the tailgate for opening it manually has a metal hinge pin which rusts. If you use the handle to open the tailgate, and the handle sticks in the opening position it can inhibit the tailgate close button from working. Never open mine manually now at all. To solve the problem push the handle back to the correct position.
Good luck

The close button on the tailgate is only active when the tailgate is open. If there's an electrical fault upstream, it will not be activated. Fortunately, this is easy enough to check, at least at this time of the year.
Wait until it's dark outside (happens early in November...), open the tailgate and look at the switch. If it's activated, the symbol in the switch is lit. If not, it's dark. The activation passes the lock in the tailgate, so that the closing button has no effect unless the lock has informed it about that the tailgate is actually open. If that feature in the lock is broken, you can't close the tailgate with the button, of course. |

Or it needs lubrication.
