360 GLE Steering Rack

I have a 1998 F plate 360 GLE - B200K engine - carburettor not injection. After diagnosis today it requires a replacement power steering rack. We suspect that the bearing in the rack has a cracked race or that a bearing has flattened off and is jamming.

Advice on where to get a replacement please - I've had a look in German Swedish & French Catalogue as well as Euro Car parts. It's power steering and yet Euro advertise a power rack for the 340 for £59 and a manual rack for a 360 for £129 - I'm confused!

Anyone had any good deals please? Would a second hand rack be a sensible choice?

Also any tips on fitting the replacement would be much appreciated.

You will probably find that Euro have got a typing error. £129 is about the going rate for a power steering rack.
As for refitting, it is exactly the reverse of removal, but use new fluid. After fitting, you must take the car to a garage to have the tracking set up correctly.
