Default 'Tunit' - diesel performance

I should admit that I know far too little about car mechanics to make a reasoned judgement but I came across this today as a possible improvement to my V40's 'off the line' reluctance (yes, I know it's a diesel!)

Tunit products

Any thoughts? Gimmick? MOT liability? Waste of money?

I taake it no one has heard of this product - that means it either a very well kept secret or a waste of money........

not heard of this model but got a similar gadget for a Ford Galaxy TDI. Cost me about £60 from ebay in Germany. A straight plug in and it does really work! I was very pleasantly suprised especially when people in the UK charge £300-£600 for such a device. I would check ebay and not just for volvos.

I have seen this product advertised, but after enquiring was advised they are only compatable with the later engines.
My local garage specialises in diesels & the have increased the turbo boost in my V40. It can be a bit smokey under hard acceleration but the difference is remarkable. It will now spin the wheels in 1st and second (& third in the wet) if provoked Cheaper than a tunit, have run like this for 3 years @ 12k per year with no problems.
