Unhappy (2001) V40 failing to start.

Need a little help i have a 2001 v40 with the 1.8i GDI engine the car starts fine first thing on a morning every day..but after traveling a short distance ie: to the shops I can come back out to it and it won't start..the engine turns over as the battery is fine but it just won't start..I can be there 15 minutes or more trying to start it then all of a sudden it will start up without a hiccup..im thinking an immobiliser issue but locked and unlocked the car on numerous occasions to try and deactivate it.. Any Ideas??

Thanks in advance.

Are you locking it with the fob or key? As i said then, plus you have had an immobiliser lamp lit so thats where i would start. Dont know how though.........

I always use the key fob to unlock the car.

Try locking it with the key next time you leave the car and see if that lets the car start.
