'99 V40 in dealers - bankrupt soon (ECU?)
Hello,
We have a 99 V40 1.8xs, trouble free last 3 years, 58,000 only. It was a bit overdue last service, petrol got low, filled up and Engine light came on. Running very rough - sounds like blowing exhaust (limp mode I guess). Volvo dealer says no codes from ECU - they reckon replacement ECU or 'Injector Rail' (£1000 + for part - either one). waitin to try one off similar car - they reckon if they try a new part i will have to pay for it and they don't know which one it needs ! Gone 2 weeks now. it's always seemed V thirsty, light has come on now again but always gone next time started. Would really love someone to tell me whats wrong, Any ideas Volvo fans ? |
