I think it's vacuum. There are actually 3 pipes out. The front one tight against the oil filler looks to go to the servo, the middle one probably to the "ear" on the block, and the rear one to the dizzy? Rather a strange circuit, or lack of, for the fumes, but hopefully it works. The pic might have been taken when everything was still a bit "experimental".

I guess a vacuum takeoff makes sense. It would also act as a balancing tube if the carb manifolds dont have a connection.
It looks like the breather fromt he oil filler might go to a collection tank under the brake servo or something. |
