Default Tyre towing pressures

Does anyone bother putting the tyre pressures up for a couple of hours towing? I was surprised to see it’s only 4psi , hardly worth the effort of getting the pump out or does that extra 4psi make a difference?

I am obsessed with tyre pressures and absolutely, I adjust them to suit.

(I used to design race tyres; on occasion, tyre pressures were all I had to play with if I wanted to make the car go faster...._

I do the pressures, on mine eco and full load are the same. I notice a big difference in economy. Usually check mine every 2 weeks or before any long journeys.

Not forgetting the caravan pressures which are often 65 psi, well above the max preasure of most car guage. I carry a lorry guage in the caravan and use a calibrated guage on the airline when checking both car and caravan.

Eco setting is the same as towing and 41 psi according to my handbook which I run all the time. Like Peter it's part of my regular weekly vehicle checks and always before a long journey.

Paul.
