Yeah it's so much nicer to drive and smoother now. Next time I will go wider or switch to 15s I think. Just a shame to lose the cross-spoke Torslanda rims as they're pretty little wheels.

Because it's such an unusual size I've always taken whatever my local garage can get. Those seem better on both fuel efficiency and wet grip than the Hankoks I have at present, and about the same for noise, so I shall look out for them next time I need some, thank you for the link.

I think the Scorpius wheels look really smart, very much part of the style of the Torslanda, but also the big fat tyres do give a smooth ride. Cleaning the wheels is decidedly tedious though, takes nearly as long as doing the whole car!

Perfect, thanks Andy. I'm literally just hanging on until Pay day to buy 4 more tyres so I'll probably go for these and let you know how it goes!

AHKV - what's the permitted back axle load on your 240? For an estate originally equipped with 185/80 R14, I think it's 1140 or 1160 kg.

175/80 R14 usually have a load capacity of 560 kg (Load Index 88). In which case these tyres, are just almost, legal for the car . . .

Few more sources, still the Maxxis and Hankook, that seems to be it for non ditchfinders.
