Default Replacing Door Mirror Unit

Anyone got a guide or info for replacing the complete passenger side wing mirror body on a V40CC, I have the new parts, can see there are 3 bolts holding it to the car and a short lead, but I'm assuming it requires removing the door card to access the bolts? in which case where are the fixings etc?

Thanks for any info, a lorry decided to remove it for us!

2 torxt25 screws under pull handle then use plastic bone remove 1/4 panel the door panel lifts up and NOT pulled out as you would normally remove a door panel disconected latch cable then speaker plug and pdm or ddm plug

Thanks for info Volvoforever knowing the door card lifted helped avoid unnecessary pulling

Quite an Easy Job, Took a little over an hour, taking it easy.

2 Torx under handle

1.4 Cover slides up and back off three lugs

Disconnect speaker and mirror connectors and door card will sit on ground without disconnecting door handle cable.

There's an extra cover over the forward mirror screw

Which has a annoying little clip that pulls off

New unit from Volvo as supplied

There's a handy little clip holds the mirror in place while 3 bolts are done up.

Just clip the cover and mirror back in connecting heated mirror wires.

Job Done!

Thanks a lot for posting, did you have any trouble with the new unit when screwing the bolts back in? Did you use the same bolts? I found it very hard to install using the old bolts. Maybe the new unit is not tapped from the factory? CB

Thanks a lot for sharing! Will be useful surely. How difficult it is to change just the motor folding in/out the mirrors and putting it back in?
