Default Mobile wifi connection issues

I am looking for a bit of advise for those of you that are using mobile wifi in your car.
I have a Vodafone wifi box and set it up in the car a couple of days ago. Everything worked straight away, Internet icon was showing, apps worked including spotify and Nav had all the latest traffic.
Today nothing is working. It finds the wifi signal ok and displays a full wifi signal on screen but the globe icon had the line through it. Tried to connect my phone to the mifi and it works and so does the internet so the mifi is working ok.
The only way the globe icon is displayed without the line through it is if I connect via bluetooth but the apps are still not working.
Any advise or tips on how to get this fixed or does is sound like the software needs a dealer upgrade?
Thanks in advance

Hello,

I have a Huawei Mobile Wi-Fi with a 3 data sim inside, so not the same setup as yourself so this comment might not help but on occasion I have had the wifi connect but no internet access, probably 1 time every 2 weeks or so. I have found that doing a hard reset on the router has always worked but bear in mind that you have to hold it in for 30s.

I think I probably have the same set up as you. I am pretty sure it is a Huawei box so it could be the same problem. I will give the hard reset a go in the morning.
Thanks

The hard reset of the mifi unit did not do anything this morning. In fact the sensus system seems be faulty. I can find wifi networks but cannot connect to anything and the wifi screen will grey out for few seconds and then come back but still no connection.
I have asked the tech guy and my local dealer to get in touch so hopefully they can sort it but I suspect the unit may be faulty as it was never very reliable from the start.

Is your MIFI plugged in via the USB slot? Could try removing it and resetting again.

It’s frustrating when things like this happen, can be a pain finding out what is going on, can you connect to your phones hotspot or home WiFi because if they work it’s likely the mifi router.

I took it in to the dealer after work on friday and as usual with things like this it worked perfectly before we got there and carried on working while at the dealer. It has worked all weekend so whatever it was it is ok now.

I'm using the Vodafone MiFi box for my V90 to connect to, and it also seems to be very hit and miss. I set the MiFi box to always on (it is plugged into the USB slot), and some days I have a line through the globe and no internet, and some days I'm good - seems to make no difference what the state of the MiFi box is. The Mifi box usually has all 3 lights on green but the car can't see any wifi. I tend to reboot the MiFi box and 50% of the time the car finds wifi after a while.

I'm going to move back to using my phone as a hotspot.

although at first I did not think the factory reset had worked I now am starting to think that has fixed it. I do not leave the mifi on all the time but as soon as I do it connects first time and everything works. No issues in over a week now..

It doesnt seem to be the MiFI now - the car can't see any wifi. From my phone I can see the MiFi but the car cant. It can't see my house or any other wifi either. I tried turning my phone into a wifi hotspot but it can't see that.

Tried turning wifi off and on lots of times - still no joy. Car can't see any wifi at all.
