Default Poly- bush or OEM

Hi All,

Thanks again for the advise. I was informed it maybe prudent to replace the arms instead of re- bushing due to the labour cost to re-bush also, doing both sides makes common sense to me.

I have always had fitted OME parts from my Volvo main dealer are they able to supply wishbone already poly bushed or will I be required to specify poly bushes to be fitted?

If that is the case is there a specific brand to fit?

Volvo won't supply you with poly bushed parts obviously.... only OEM ones.

If you want to go the poly route you'll have to ask your mechanic to put the bushes in your existing wishbones.

Does your 2007 have aluminum or steel control arms?
Poly bushes have been available for the aluminum ones. I bought a pair of control arms from a breaker and had the ploys pressed in so I could just just pop the new arms on fast.
The question of whether or not the '00-'06 bushes fit the '07 steel control arms hasn't been answered.

I bought new arms which lasted around 25k.
Not volvo OE but from a recommended online volvo parts seller.
I rebushed my original arms to bolt back on.

Hi All, Not sure if they are aluminium or steel.

Taking in all the good advise it appears poly last longer and seem to complement the steering geometry however, some say not to poly an go with OEM.

I think therefore I will consult with my Indi for there advise.

Many thanks to all that advised.

another benefit of poly is you may pay a touch more labour to get them installed instead of swapping arms, you know with poly you wont be doing the job again with their lifetime guarantee, powerflex bushes are well recommended on the V70 and the purple ones will settle and shouldnt give any NVH https://powerflexstore.co.uk/volvo/v70-2008-2016/
