What did I do to the Volvo today? Nothing. Just a drive.
What did the V40 do all by itself today? Cleared the P0015 code.

Today was a good day.

Not done anything on either car today, but had a look into issues with bike and head gaskets gone on that now!!
Apparently on this particuler engine when taking off the head you can pull the cylinders straight out and they have to be re-sealed before putting back together.
Oh the joy!

DS, You appear to be turning into a bit of a head case. How is the T4 BTW, is it still behaving, or are you both sulking at each other?

I drove my 60 today first proper run out in it and although it's good and feels like a more bigger car, in all honesty out of the two I prefer my s40 lol. Weird thing to say I know and I should be crowing about the new addition but the s40 is much more a drivers car.

I think I need my head looking at ITS!
They say it comes in three's, if that's the case, just makes me wonder whats next, other bike or diesel.
We're still sulking at each other regarding T4. Been using diesel recently so it's not been used. Keeping my eye out for a replacement engine.

Fitted new Volvo plugs, fuel filter and changed the oil and filter in the C70. Previous owner assured me that only Volvo parts had been used - he supplied them and indy did the work. Genuine cambelt, air filter, pollen filter and plugs - all got Volvo stamped on them so all good. But then I came to the oil fliter paper element, same part as my V40. Undid the canister and the element inside looked completely different to the new Volvo one. Sh*t, got the wrong replacement, but no, a Cooper element had been fitted. Now the critical thing here is that the genuine element fits snuggly into the end of the canister and snuggly on to the engine casting making an oil tight seal and ensuring the oil flows through the filter. The Cooper element was loose at both ends allowing the oil to flow past the filter and not through, so filter doing phuck all.

Just reinforces my belief in fitting genuine parts. Now the quality of the engine oil is known and being filtered, I can be a bit keener driving, instead of only granny mode.

Nothing on the V40. Repaired the door mirror on the C70, so that is all working fine. The motor arm had become detached from the mirror frame.

Just an update to keep this thread on page1, it had slipped to page 2, so everyone's motor must be behaving.

Kieran, do you know which filters this is the case for? (i.e which Mann filters are identical to Volvo branded items) I'm guessing it isn't the case for the fuel filter for the 1.9D as all the pictures I can find shows that the Mann version (P733/1? ) has a straight (rather than zigzag) pattern in the element?
