End of the line for this T4. Pretty much went for scrap as a bare shell with some suspension arms and hubs attached.

Everything else has been pillaged to repair my "shed" as it was once called or sold on to help other X40 owners.

I noticed one side light (front) was out. Opened the bonnet, removed the dead bulb, shut the bonnet. As I was starting to drive to Halfords my neighbour stopped me. The number plate screw had fallen out, and the plate was dragging on the ground. So Halfords provided a pair of new bulbs and a set of number plate screws and caps. I am ridiculously pleased that the rusty screws I inherited with the car are now replaced with nice white caps. Sad or what?

Ah, it's all happening at once now! Wife came home with no brakes. Fluid level has dropped dramatically. Oddly I only checked it the day before, it was exactly on the >PP< mark. Dunno what PP stands for, but it looked like the right level to me.

It'll be those rear brake pipes, I expect. They were an advisory at the last MOT, he said they'd be a fail next year. I guess they couldn't wait that long. It needs to stop raining before I'm wriggling beneath it, however.

Until then we're car-less. :-(

Changed rear wiper arm spring. Thanks Gatos! Now wipes clean without butterfly.

Also vinegar and mineral oil treatment for the nut and shaft. Nice and clean

Nothing to report really, an uneventful round trip from sunny beccles to Daventry stopping around the cambridge area in between (my parents) with no issues, i may have a possible rumbly rear wheel bearing as i heard the classic wowowowowow sound a couple of times, although that could be due to the road surface as the a11 isn't great. The only car related thing at all was my dad mentioning in passing that he'd got some nice new 100w headlight bulbs for the dipped lights on his mk2 focus, I briefly explained that sucking 200w through circuitry that's only designed to take 110w is a terrible idea, they were removed sharpish and replaced with a pair of standard ring h7 bulbs that I had in my glove box, he has now ordered some Philips diamond visions as he hates the standard yellowy halogen hue just as much as I do.

Well i took out my passenger side rear light out as part of my "Find the leak!" quest, the result is NO not that side soo started on the drivers and i have this recurring nightmare going on, the same bolt as last time, it wont let me access it... Then it started to rain AGAIN (will it never stop?)
On the plus side the rain showed me where it coming in. Yep it the light i can't get out without finding a socket that bends!
I know it can be done 'cos i had it out couple of months ago but wanted to redo it cos last time my MS kicked in and i fell apart as it stressed me out. I was hoping it would go ok this time, still there's a ceiling to be painted in the flat, so off to do that.

Well, with the car still out of action, I've taken to sleeping late. But when I woke today, and wearilly made my way to the bathroom, sunshine was streaming in.

Golden bright sunshine. Then today's the day. Turn the car around, up on stands, find the hydraulic leak and rectify. Great!

Then I saw the snow...
